Ex-spouses and The Fly costars Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum reunite at SAG Awards

The two were on hand to present the night's top honor, Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

It's not every day you reunite with a former on- and off-screen partner, but Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis did just that at the 30th SAG Awards.

The two actors, who starred together in the 1986 horror film The Fly and were married from 1987 to 1991, were on hand Saturday night to present the ceremony's top honor, Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

"The great Geena Davis, everybody," Goldblum said of his erstwhile spouse and castmate.

"You know, we're so honored to be giving away this award because we had a pretty good cast in The Fly," Davis said of the David Cronenberg-directed film, which starred Goldblum a brilliant but eccentric scientist who turns into a giant man-fly when one of his experiments goes terribly wrong.

Goldblum seemed momentarily caught off guard, saying, "Oh, the movie The Fly, yeah yeah." He then jokingly expressed his disappointment that they didn't win such an award for that film. "Because [of] you, certainly, and David Cronenberg was in the cast, he kind of played a part in that thing, so yes," Goldblum said.

"But Jeff, they didn't have this award then," Davis pointed out.

"That's right, that's fine. That's some consolation. Always glass half-full, thank you, Geena Davis," Goldblum quipped, before admitting that it was a "delicious task" indeed to present the award.

The two then took turns giving encouragement to one another as they read the names of the nominees — American Fiction, Barbie, The Color Purple, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Oppenheimer — before finally giving the honor to Oppenheimer.

The reunion between Davis and Goldblum was one of several such moments at this year's SAG Awards. The Devil Wears Prada costars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt reunited to present Male Actor in a Comedy Series to The Bear's Jeremy Allen White, and the casts of Modern Family and Breaking Bad had similar onstage reunions.
