Pairing: Min Yoongi / fem!reader

Rating: Teen

Word count: 31.5k (…oops)

Genre: Fluff, historical romance

Summary: After the shy and awkward pianist makes a horrible first impression on you, you are convinced that Min Yoongi is nothing but a rude and gloomy man. Repairing the damage proves to be a long process, in which you are forced to recognise some flaws in your own character. But with (and sometimes despite) the help of his friends you begin to understand him a little better.

Notes: regency!au, pianist!Yoongi, slow burn-ish, mention of parent death, Jungkook is the reader’s younger brother, which means you are occasionally referred to as ‘Miss Jeon’, the maknae are not great at the whole wingman gig, but fortunately Namjoon is around to pick up the slack

“Jungkook.” You shook your brother awake, voice an urgent whisper. “Kookie!”

Your little brother had been sound asleep, curled up in the sheets, but at your insistent poking of his cheek he stirred.

“Wh- what’s going on?” he asked groggily, shifting to escape your prodding finger. The five-year old boy sat cross-legged on the bed, his mouth hanging open as he blinked at you.

“It’s a full moon, remember!” you said, jumping off his bed. You pulled back his heavy curtains with a dramatic flair—an effect somewhat spoiled by the fact his window did not afford a view of the aforementioned moon.

With no response to your words other than a bleary stare, Jungkook looked on the brink of falling back to sleep.

Unacceptable!

Drawing yourself up to your full eight-year old height, you pulled Jungkook out of the bed and dragged him to the window. He yawned loudly, rubbing at his eyes with a knuckle.

“Come on,” you urged him, lifting him up to sit in the window sill, then clambered up yourself and undid the latch. “We have a ghost to catch!”

“Ghosts aren’t real,” he said, pouting at you. “Jimin told me so.”

You sniffed. “Jimin is only seven. Do you trust him over me?” The cool night air brushed against your bare arms as you opened the window, and you suppressed a shiver, hastening to readjust your cloak.

Jungkook put his arms around his knees, nuzzling into the fabric of his nightgown. “No,” he finally admitted.

“Then let’s go!”

In the end, you never did catch any ghost—though Jungkook did catch a horrible cold. Still, for many years you firmly maintained one haunted the orchard during any given full moon.

This was such an amazing and detailed story!!! This isn’t a genre I would typically go for so I’m extremely excited I have it a try! There are so many great things about his story but the slow burn,,,,made me feel so soft. It was the kind of slow burn where I got to enjoy the ride and really enjoyed the pacing. I also really like how Oc interacts with all the other characters and how detailed the storyline and characters are. It was such a cute story and the sweet moments between Oc and Yoongi gave me life, like her *SPOILER* saying his name, that moment felt so intimate and sweet. Really enjoyed this story, thank you for sharing it with us!!!
