Common Yarrow (Achillea millefolium var. occidentalis) SF

It provides a great cut and dried flower. Yarrow is a strong attractor of birds, bees and butterflies. This perennial has been used throughout the centuries as an herb for historical, medicinal purposes and is a good ground cover crop. Yarrow naturally grows in underground runners and can aid in hillside erosion control. Fall or spring planting seasons will work for this flower.
