  • $ 877.77

Description: Beautiful gold coin showing no date from Venice Italy. This is a one Zacchino or Ducat from the times of Alvise Mocenigo III in the period of 1722-1732. The coin shows St. Mark standing right, presenting cruciform staff to Doge kneeling left with the legend "ALOY / MOCENI / DVX / S M VENET" on the obverse. The reverse shows Christ the Redeemer standing facing within mandorla of sixteen stars on the obverse. The obverse has the legend "SIT T XPE DAT Q TV REGIS ISTE DVCAT" surrounding the image of Christ along the edge. The coin is undated but was issued during the period 1722-32. The coin is much better than the photos suggest. It is beautiful with nice eye appeal. It is KM 517 and Fr. 1379 weighing ~3.4 gm and measures ~22 mm. Please carefully review the photos provided as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: ND (1722-1733).

Mint: Venice.

Size and weight: This is a one Zacchino or Ducat that is ~22 mm in diameter and weighs ~3.4 grams of 0.9990 gold.

References: KM 517 and Fr. 1379.

Condition: I would grade this coin as extremely fine. Its details are well preserved and has a nice eye appeal with quite a bit of luster. It does have wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. The coin shows some weakness in the center if the reverse and is slightly bent. Be that as it may, the coin is as struck with nice details and much luster. The coin is much better than the photos suggest. Please see photos to appreciate the beauty of this coin and for additional condition information.
