This is an authentic miniature fountain grass both in height and bloom dimensions, but it is a true giant when it comes to landscape use and good looks. Growing in a low clumping form to one foot tall, its one-inch bottlebrush plumes are delightful and perfect for sunny rock gardens or masses. A single Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Little Bunny’ might get lost in a perennial planting, but several grouped together add variety and texture to the landscape. It can also act as an interesting ground cover. It provides three-season interest because blooms remain attractive well into winter. Miniature Fountain Grass originated as a seedling of Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Hameln’.

GROWER INFO & TIPS
- Growth rate: medium
- Grow in 1 or 2 gallon (larger sizes may take a long time to fill out)
- Grow in well-drained soil
- Water needs: keep evenly moist; do not overwater
- Fertilizing: use a slow release, medium-rate fertilizer; avoid fertilizing late in season
- Possible pests: aphids, mealybugs, leaf spot, spidermites, spittlebugs, possibly chinch bugs during summer months
- Overwintering: cold frame with clear poly; do not over water
