This perennial species with blue flowers can reach 1 m in height. It is a medicinal plant renowned for its many virtues, notably digestive. It also produces honey.

As an infusion, it is excellent for fighting colds and flu. It is also carminative, digestive and stimulating.

Sow in a terrine under a well-lit shelter. Cover seeds lightly, press lightly and keep moist. Transplant into individual cups when plants have 3 to 4 leaves. Plant out when they reach a minimum height of 20 cm, in the spring or autumn following sowing.

Hyssop can be propagated by dividing clumps in spring or by cuttings in summer. It fears heavy frosts. In winter, if temperatures fall below -10°C, you'll need to bring it inside or protect it.
