Asphodeline liburnica
Jacob’s Rod
Jacob’s Rod has a widespread distribution in the Mediterranean area from Italy to Syria. It makes beautiful evergreen clumps of fine, arching, grass-like leaves from which, during summer, 80cm tall stiff stems carry dozens of starry soft lemon flowers in a long succession . We have planted a drift here in a hot dry border and it has to be said that it looks better planted in groups rather than a single specimens. Foliage mounds grow 30cm tall by 30cm wide.
