Dugesia tigrina Planarian Flatworm

Scientific Name: Dugesia tigrina (species of flatworm).
Common name: Planarian.
A staple of both high school biology classes and modern day stem-cell research labs, who doesn’t like the harmless cross-eyed planarian known for its regenerative abilities. Here I’ve represented an individual stained with Rose Bengal solution (pink) and with an ink-filled digestion track (dark royal purple). Kiln formed with multiple firings of sheet glass, frit, and powder wafers and then slumped to achieve the characteristic the organic “wiggly worm” look.
