Actor Jang Dong Gun is making a return to the small screen as Ta Gon, the King of Arthdal, in the highly- anticipated tvN drama Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon

After a 4-year hiatus since the previous installment of the Arthdal Chronicles series, fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel which unveils the next chapter in the life of Ta Gon (Jang Dong Gun), who has established himself as Arthdal's King.

Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon is the upcoming installment of the Arthdal Chronicles series. The story delves into the intertwined destinies of Ta Gon (Jang Dong Gun), Eun Seom/Sa Ya (Lee Joon Gi), Tan Ya (Shin Sae Kyeong), and Tae Al Ha (Kim Ok Bin), taking place eight years after Ta Gon's ascension to the throne.

The released stills showcase Ta Gon oozing the sophistication of royalty as the King of Arthdal. His presence exudes an air of invincibility and dominion, showcasing his absolute power.

He evokes both respect from his subjects and fear from his enemies. His transformation from an assertive leader to a more mature figure is expected to be a highlight of the series.


Jang Dong Gun, returning to the role of Ta Gon after a considerable gap, shared his excitement, stating, "I was genuinely curious about what would happen after [the previous installment of] Arthdal Chronicles. I am truly pleased and excited to play the character again in Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun.

He further elaborated, "In the previous season, Ta Gon's character was characterized by ambition and unyielding determination to get what he wants. This time, I've strived to convey the internal conflicts and vulnerabilities of a powerful figure who seemingly has everything". This indicates that viewers will be able to witness a deeper exploration of Ta Gon's psyche.
