Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines' Estranged Husband Requests More Than $60,000 in Monthly Support

Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines‘ estranged husband Adrian Pasdar is seeking more than $60,000 in monthly combined child and spousal support.

The former Heroes star, 53, asks for $16,427 in child support for their two sons — Jackson, 17, and Beckett, 14 — and $44,076 in spousal support per month, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. In total, Pasdar is requesting $60,503 in monthly support from Maines, as well as $350,000 to pay for his attorney’s fees.

Pasdar also claims that Maines, 44, has a net worth of $50 million and makes about $2 million a year, which averages to $172,000 a month. Since she is going out on tour in 2019 to promote her solo music, he expects that she will “net millions of dollars of income from that endeavor.”

In contrast, Pasdar says he is a working actor who makes an average of $150,000 per year and that he racked up $200,000 in debt since their split in 2017 to support himself and their children. He also says he had to give up “countless employment opportunities” during their 17-year marriage so that he could stay local and parent the children while Maines continued her work as a musician.

The pair got married in 2000, and Maines filed for divorce in June 30, 2017, with a separation date listed as June 9, 2017, citing irreconcilable differences. A rep for Maines told PEOPLE at the time that the split was “a private family matter.”

Before the separation, Pasdar claims Maines was the one who paid the mortgage on their $12 million home, all of the family’s expenses related to their vacation home in Hawaii, travel expenses to and from New York and Hawaii several times a year and other expenses related to their family, including the kids’ school tuition.

Following their split, Pasdar says he moved out of their $12 million home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles and into a $7,000 a month rental in Venice beach.

Pasdar and Maines signed a prenuptial agreement before their wedding in 2000, but Pasdar is challenging whether it’s valid. He claims that the agreement is “unconscionable” considering the circumstances in this case.

As The Blast reports, Maines has accused Pasdar of trying to drag out the divorce, costing her both money and time. Pasdar rejected a settlement proposal in June 2018, and in court documents, Maines claimed that this is a “transparent attempt to secure an unfair litigation advantage” by wearing her down and dragging this case out.

The pair maintained a joint custody agreement after their split, though no formal custody or visitation orders have been made.
