Twice Charmed Milo Ventimiglia on 'Gilmore Girls' and 'This Is Us' : 'I Feel Like a Bride'

Milo Ventimiglia is currently starring in NBC’s new drama This Is Us and will soon resume his role in Netflix’s upcoming Gilmore Girls revival, a season of life he describes as “my wedding year.”

Although Ventimiglia, 39, has yet to be married, the actor is comparing this exciting time in his personal and professional life to being a bride.

“It’s an exciting time. To be able to have something new and something old, I kind of feel like a bride. Something new, something old, something borrowed, something blue, something blue, something, was it, blue? Yeah, borrowed, blue, new and old. I guess I feel like a bride. I’m having my wedding year,” Ventimiglia, who plays fan-favorite dad Jack Pearson on This Is Us, told PEOPLE at NBC And Vanity Fair‘s Toast the 2016-2017 TV Season party at NeueHouse in Hollywood on Wednesday.

At the end of the month, Ventimiglia’s fans will get an additional dose of the actor when he reprises his GG role on the streaming service as Jess Mariano. With a coffee cup in hand, Team Jess fans will watch Ventimiglia act alongside stars Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore), Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) and the rest of the lovable cast in Netflix’s new four-part series.

“I’m excited for the audiences and the fans of Gilmore to get that extra slice of pie, when the dessert kitchen’s been closed,” the actor told PEOPLE, and added of his new series, “I’m excited for the audience on This Is Us to learn more about the Pearsons and the journey of their life. It’s just a fun moment right now. I’m enjoying it all.”

Although Ventimiglia was not present when the final four words of dialogue were spoken on the GG set, the actor is aware of what they are — and stayed mum on revealing them to antsy audiences.

“I’ve known what it was for some time. Years ago, I casually asked [creator Amy Sherman-Palladino]. I said, ‘Amy, everybody talks about it. What was it?’ And she told me. And she didn’t hang anything over my head and say, ‘Well, you can’t say anything.’ It was just like, oh I get it. Oh wow, that’s really lovely. Yeah. People will find out Nov. 25.”
