Phlox stolonifera is a hardy, early-blooming species of Phlox, providng beautiful color in the early spring. From full sun with moist soils to heavy shade (where it will still grow, though with fewer flowers), this species does well just about anywhere. One of the most effective ways to use this species is to create continuous swaths spreading through garden beds. 'Blue Ridge' is a cultivar with lavendar-blue flowers.
