synonyms: Double Belle Fleur, Double Bellefleur, Double Bonne Ente, French Bellefleur, French Bellflower, Sometimes Bellefleur de France, but this is a synonym for Mère de Ménage . Also simply referred to as Bellefleur or Belle Fleure but this causes confusion with the cultivar by that name as well as the varieties which are also known by the synonyms Bellefleur and Belle-Fleur, including the Belle-Fleur Longue, the Moyeuvre and the Yellow Bellflower.
identification: Large, round to round conic. The base colour is greenish yellow washed deep red on all sun exposed surfaces The calyx is medium size, partly open and set in a somewhat deep and narrow basin. Ribbed at the basin. The stem is short and moderately thick, set in a medium deep and narrow russetted cavity.
characteristics: The flesh is cream coloured with some green stains, firm. Mild flavour. Sweet and slightly tart.
