Merlion Park (What to expect)

Singapore’s icon, the Merlion.

This was not part of our itinerary since I already saw it years ago but I wanted to make a post for the blog, so I decided to visit again!

The closest station to Merlion Park is Raffles Place but you need to walk around 10 minutes before you reach the park.

I didn’t want to max out my energy during our last day in Singapore so we rode and booked a Grab, again😭.

We just had to walk a bit, less than 5 minutes, before we reached the Merlion!

If you’re expecting to see a huge statue, the Merlion is small, so manage your expectations. There’s nothing much to do around here unless you want to eat around the area but if you just came here for the Merlion then that’s pretty much it hahahaha!

You just might take some time to wait until people leave in a certain area so you can take your photos. It can get annoying since the heat is insane and you just want a good photo but patience is a virtue!

July 2022 update : I went back to Singapore after a month to watch a concert! My friend wanted to see the Merlion since she haven’t seen the place in so long so we decided to find a way to go despite the little time we had. We could only squeeze in heading to Merlion at night so I thought it would be good to show you guys what it looks like at night. Hopefully, this can help you decide if you want to go during the day or during the night (I vote day though, it’s so hard to get a decent photo at night)
