Marlène Jobert (born November 4, 1940) is a French actress, producer and children's books writer.

She was born in Algiers, French Algeria, from a French soldier and a local Sephardi Jewish woman. Her very fist film role was in Jean-Luc Godard's Masculin Féminin in 1965. Gold Digger Femme Fatale Rita in Michel Audiard's Faut pas prendre les enfants du bon Dieu pour des canards sauvages was her Star-Making Role.

She retired from film acting in 1989 to dedicate her time to her writing career, she has since sold about 15 million children's books worldwide, and did the audiobooks of some herself. She appeared sporadically in TV productions until 1998, and has retired from acting altogether since.

She's been married to Swedish dental surgeon Walter Green since 1976, and she's had fraternal twin daughters with him: Eva Green, who became an actress, and Joy Green, who became a horse breeder in Italy.
