Heliopsis helianthoides 'Tuscan Sun' is a cultivar of false sunflower, an upright perennial wildflower similar in appearance and habit to true sunflowers (Genus: Helianthus). The 'Tuscan Sun' cultivar differs from other Heliopsis helianthoides varieties with its dwarf-size stature, only growing to 18-36" as opposed to 36-60" in the straight species, and its slightly darker orange-tinged flowers, which bloom through the summer.

False sunflowers thrive in average, medium-dry and well-drained soil, and especially in full sun, though they tolerates drought, a wide range of soils, and some light shade. Wide tolerance of growing conditions and a smaller growth habit makes 'Tuscan Sun' well suited to an even wider variety of garden types than the straight species, and as an added bonus, flowers make for great additions to floral arrangements, and are a vital species for pollen specialists.
