Heuchera americana 'Dale's Strain' is a coral bell cultivar noted for the splashy silvery blue highlights present on the plant's leaves. Like all Heuchera, 'Dale's Strain' is low-growing, mounding, and produces spikes of small, white flowers which are attractive to pollinators and butterflies in the early summer. In addition, 'Dale's Strain' performs best in part to full shade and organically rich soils.
Unlike other Heuchera, the best coloration from 'Dale's Strain' appears to occur in planting locations with a lot of sun, with some of the best results coming from mostly sun/part-shade locations with shade only in the late afternoon and evening. This cultivar's are perhaps its most striking element, and silvery blues present in sunnier spots eventually turn to persistent reds and oranges as the spring and summer turns to fall and winter.
