MARSHALL, Mich. (WWMT) — If you recently spotted Bigfoot, Michigan State Police troopers want to talk to you. They are looking for your help in locating the creature.

On March 31 Michigan State Police troopers began an investigation on a seven-foot-tall Sasquatch lawn ornament that had been stolen in St. Joseph county according to police.

The ornament was described as being made of sheet metal material and sported a rusty brown color with sharp edges to mimic that of the legend itself.

Reports state the ornament had been cut from a steel post with what authorities say may have been pliers or a similar tool, on West End Road near Heimbach Road in Park Township.

Residents in the area told investigators that a white van with dark driver and passenger windows had been spotted in the area prior to the incident.

The van turned around in the victim's driveway before beginning to head north towards Heimbach Road, according to residents.

Authorities urge community members to report any Bigfoot sightings to the Michigan Sate Police Marshall Post.
