Penélope Cruz, the master of the smoldering stare and the perfect cat eye, posted a makeup-free selfie to Instagram, and all there really is to say is wow.
The 44-year-old shared a shot of herself visiting Dubai and blowing a kiss to the front-facing camera. Cruz was traveling in the Middle East city to celebrate a store opening for Carpisa, a handbag line she serves as the face of, in the Dubai Mall.
In the photo, her skin is positively glowing, which has all of us wondering what, exactly, her secret. In an interview with British Vogue last year, Cruz discussed how intensely she focuses on the gut and skin connection in her daily routine. "I read about it a lot. I'm passionate about it. I really believe it's true that your stomach is your second brain," she said, noting that she is a big believer in supplements and takes probiotics, enzymes, and vitamins. "But specific, good quality ones, not general multivitamins — that's important."
In addition to her supplements, Cruz also follows a strict diet — and smoke-free lifestyle — for the sake of her skin. "I try to avoid dairy and sugar, and I can't eat gluten because I have a big intolerance," she told InStyle. "I eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and quality protein from free-range animals. I also drink gallons of water now, which is something I wasn't doing. I barely drink alcohol, and I quit smoking years ago. I don't miss that in my life."

Cruz grew up around beauty — her parents owned a beauty salon in Spain — so it's hardly surprising that she takes her skin care so seriously. As for her actual routine, she's said that she swears by Lancôme Génifique Sensitive, but it's pretty clear that this kind of natural glow comes from within.
