Tolerates a variety of soil pH and types, except the very wet
 Diagnostic Characteristics:
Leaves are 0.1-0.5" long and less wide, alternate, simple, broad-elliptic. Acute at ends and mucronate at apex. Branching occurs with a distinct herring-bone pattern.

Additional Information

C. horizontalis is a low, flat, dense shrub with horizontally spreading branches creating a tiered effect. A generally trouble-free cotoneaster, although can be subject to the troubles of Rosaceous plants on occasion. Fireblight is more problematic for this species in the South.
