Syringa vulgaris 'Katherine Havemeyer' is a medium-sized, fast-growing, deciduous shrub of upright to spreading habit, with heart-shaped, light green leaves, and highly fragrant, double, lavender flowers, opening from purple buds and fading to lilac pink. It blooms in May and June for 3 to 4 weeks. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Lilac 'Katherine Havemeyer' grows well in most soil types as long as they are well-drained, but prefers fertile, humus-rich, slightly alkaline, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun and best flowering occurs in full sun, but is tolerant of partial shade. It is resistant to frost and can withstand some wind. Low maintenance, doesn’t require regular pruning. Very reliable plant. Generally, disease-free and pest-free. Syringa vulgaris 'Katherine Havemeyer', with the abundance of colourful, highly fragrant flowers, is a beautiful addition to any informal and cottage garden. It is great as a specimen or accent plant. Perfect for shrub borders, informal hedges and screens, and foundation plantings.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
