Skimmia japonica 'Veitchii' is a small, compact, bushy, evergreen shrub with elliptic, leathery, glossy, dark green leaves and terminal panicles of small, fragrant, star-shaped, white flowers blooming in spring. Since it’s a female variety, if pollinated, flowers are followed by attractive bright red berries in autumn and winter. Skimmia japonica 'Veitchii' requires fertile, humus-rich, light, slightly acidic, consistently moist, extremely well-drained soil. It thrives in partial shade to full shade. Resistant to frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. Very tolerant of air pollution and ideal for urban landscapes. No major pest or disease problems. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Skimmia 'Veitchii' is an excellent, very decorative, evergreen shrub. Perfect for shrub borders, banks and slopes, and foundation plantings. Suitable for growing in pots and containers and especially popular in urban areas. It provides interest all year round and is ideal for shade gardens.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
