This is a useful and easy-to-grow, low-growing evergreen producing masses of bright yellow flowers in clusters in late-spring. It's a perfect companion for spring bulbs or purple aubrieta on a rock garden or bank, but also good in difficult, dry situations such as on a hollow topped wall or cracks in paving. It can also be used as a containerised specimen in alpine houses and displays. It thrives in the poorest soil provided it's well-drained. Annual trimming after flowering prolongs the life of plants, improves later flowering and keeps plants compact.
