I been to the zoo recently and for the first time since maybe 5th grade , which I don't remember because of childhood trauma . I'll be 29 in June so it was basically my first time and I must say that it was very depressing . The Philadelphia zoo in located on 34th and Girard , basically the middle of the hood and . .well let's get right to it . I don't think Philadelphia is suitable for alot of the animals there . You can see on their face how unhappy alot of them were and are . A sloth bear came out of from the dark when the sun came out and only when the sun came out , that's a tropical weather bear ! That type of bear isn't use to no cold weather and it's quite endangering it along with a few other animals like the Red panda and giraffe, hippopotamus , some of the birds, monkeys etc it's animals there that are on the verge of extinction or just simply don't belong . . .So why does it makes sense to have them in a place that threatens that more ? Almost promise it ? Just for our own what . . amusement ? entertainment? No , un acceptable. You wanna see these exotic animals ? travel to where they live . Go to a zoo in they hometown or they country , they continent , their habitats not in West Philly where the weather is bipolar and they hear gunshots on the regular from a area with non stop cars driving and traffic and all they hear is cars and horns all day and night !? These animals are being held captive and they're unhappy and I know because way more than a few told me but not just me , they're telling us and some people just choose to ignore it but just look at them . The kangaroos were so unhappy , emu's unhappy, flamingos. .unhappy . Now I'm not saying close the zoo , some animals live great in captivity and could actually use the support and resources they get there but the exotic animals must go , it's not fair . The Philadelphia zoo needs to have animals in it that's suitable for the environment . I'm not here to help them figure that out , I'm here to save the ones that are going to eventually die from depression or the weather , treatment , neglect and the list goes on. Animals have feelings just Ike we do so how would you like being held somewhere against you're will in a place that's not suitable for you to be at or live in ? And they don't care because your there to serve a purpose . . What's the purpose ? To entertain people , amuse them , let them look at you and take pictures all day and tap on the glass just to take they're mind off whatever they dealing with or to take the kids to ( which I can understand ) but y'all not there all day , they are . Kids love the zoo but some kids will tell you faster than most or anyone else exactly what I just said here , that these animal are sad and unhappy or this or that anything. See most kid's still intact with the ability to love , unconditionally love and feel for things and others , the sympathy , compassion and alot of people that's in control of these things aren't so much but that's world wide and that's another story . I don't have no sponsors , no big names , companies, organizations or help behind this prior to the posting but we as people who understand this and feel like this when it comes to things as such have absolutely no problem fighting for it , A change .
