Gemma Atkinson reveals first Strictly encounter with Gorka was very flirty

Strictly Come Dancing super couple Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have brought cameras into their homes to give fans an insight into their life as a family of four.

The pair, who share daughter Mia, 2, and newborn son Thiago, initially met in 2017 when Gemma signed up to take part in the BBC show.

Despite not being partnered up with Gorka, the couple met on the first day and in a preview for their new reality series, Gemma explains how they met, and their first words to each other are revealed.

She said: "It was on Strictly that me and Gorks fell in love in front of the whole nation.

"The first time I ever met Gorka was when the pros had to meet all the celebs in one room, and they had put a curtain up and I knew Simon Rimmer in advance so I said to Simon, I am sticking with you!

"And then we all had to find a space and start warming up with a choreographer. Back then I had to touch my toes and I was basically like this." Gemma can then be seen bending down to touch her toes and demonstrating the moment.

Gorka interjected: "And then I came from behind and said 'Yoohoo, hello'.

Gemma laughed: "And yeah that was the first time I saw him! And I came up and said: 'You alright?' and he said 'I'm Gorka' and that was it."

Gorka then said: "I remember that day, she was wearing two plaits and she was wearing white converse and grey trousers and a white top and I remember it like it was yesterday!

In another clip Gorka said: "One of Gemma's best friends messaged her to ask how her first day went and she said 'it went great I think I'm going to sleep with the Spanish one!' and that was me!"

Gemma & Gorka: Life Behind the Lens will offer viewers "exclusive access into their busy lives as they embark on an exciting new phase of their life together".

Speaking about the show on Instagram, Gemma previously penned: "It’s a 3-part series documenting our journey to becoming parents again. Welcoming you into our crazy chaotic home life, we’ve made sure to keep it real and raw and unfiltered! There’s no glam squad, no fancy lighting, just us winging it like most parents.

"We’ve shared the highs and lows and along the way you’ll meet pelvic floor specialists, women’s health physios, midwives and doctors all sharing their expertise on vaginal births, C sections and VBACS. We hope you enjoy it! Thank you all so much for the support, it means a lot."

Gemma and Gorka: Life Behind the Lens will air on August 30, at 8pm on UKTV channel W.
