What happens when art and fast food collide? A sculpture of a soda cup is what happens!

During New York City's contemporary and modern art fair, dubbed The Armory, more than 2,500 artists displayed their creations. Perhaps the most talked about was Dario Escobar's. The New York Post reports that the Guatemalan artist, whose works have been exhibited around the world, fashioned a McDonald's cup into a sculpture priced at…wait for it…$9,000.

Escobar's "cup," which has no title, is covered in gold and "pigments" and intricately painted with floral embellishments. Just in case you want to use it, it even comes with the signature plastic lid and straw. The artist made the piece in 1998, so it could be considered an antique given the logo is not McD's current one. Instead the cup is emblazoned with the giant Golden Arches.

Fast-food packaging is not the only edible that inspired Escobar's work. His "50% up 50% down" is a cardboard and gold replica of a box of Kellogg's Corn Flakes. No price is listed.

How much would you pay for Escobar's McDonald's-inspired art?
