The first trailer for The Kill Room, a dark comedy starring Samuel L Jackson, Joe Manganiello, Uma Thurman and her daughter Maya Hawke, has been released.

Jackson and Manganiello star as a crime boss and his hitman henchman, respectively, who enter into a world even more dangerous and cutthroat than the criminal underworld: the art world.

Teaming up with an art gallery owner (Thurman), the trio embark on a money laundering scheme, with people lining up to spend big money on paintings that look like "a Smurf had diarrhoea", allowing them to move around millions in dodgy money without attracting the attention of the IRS.

Unfortunately, things get complicated when the art of 'Bagman' becomes a sensation, threatening to jeopardise their small operation. Complicating things further is when the gallery owner learns that the criminals she is fraternising with are involved with (shock) a little bit of a murder.

Director Nicol Paone previously said: "Getting to make The Kill Room – an already incredible script – with Uma Thurman and Samuel L Jackson is beyond my wildest dreams.

"Every moment they're on screen, they are both enviable and eye-catching. I am eternally grateful to both of them for saying yes, and I am thrilled to bring this to life."

Jackson may be in his 70s, but he's showing no signs of slowing down. The actor recently returned to the role of Nick Fury in Marvel's Secret Invasion TV series, and landed the lead role in a new Netflix drama.

The Kill Room will be released in cinemas on September 29 in the United States. A release for the United Kingdom has yet to be officially announced.
