Homeland star David Harewood will play Eliza's boss, with Henstridge now cast as his wife, Deadline reports.

The 39-year-old actress - best known for her role in the Species films - last took on a regular TV role in The CW's 2011-12 drama The Secret Circle.

John Cho (Star Trek) will also feature in the pilot as the marketing expert who revamps Eliza's image - the modern equivalent of My Fair Lady's Henry Higgins.

ABC will announce which of its pilots is picked up to series in May.

Gillan will next be seen in Marvel's big-screen blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy as the alien villainess Nebula.
