Gemma Atkinson sets record straight as fans say she's gone 'too far' in 'manly' bikini pic
Gemma Atkinson addressed fans' concerns that she had ‘gone too far' in her workout routine after sharing a muscly-looking bikini snap to social media.
Hits Radio host Gemma Atkinson took to Instagram today to set the record straight after she was told she looked “too manly” by some of her followers. The former Emmerdale star sparked hilarity when she shared a fan-edited bikini picture of herself looking particularly muscular.
While some people saw the funny side, other people mistook the picture for a real photo of Gemma, quickly sharing their concerns she had grown “too muscly”. It all began when the soap star shared the edited snap with her 1.9 million followers last night.
Next to the picture, which saw the actress emerging from the see showing off some huge biceps, she wrote on her story: “Ffs. Who did this?”
Gemma added a string of laughing emojis before continuing: “Apparently Evil Steve works miracles.” The star often makes reference to her trainer “Evil Steve”, who helps her keep to her strict fitness regime.
Following fans’ worried reaction to the picture, Gemma later posted a clarification with the original photo included on her story. The presenter, who shares two children with Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez, appeared to take the whole thing in good humour.
The original photograph shows a more recognisable Gemma rinsing off her hair as she emerges from the ocean wearing a black bikini top and red bottoms.
She captioned the snap: “To clarify. This is the original. Before I had children and before I had my tattoo removed.
“But thanks to those who messaged to tell me I’d gone ‘too far’ and looked ‘too manly’,” she added with laughing and melting face emojis.
Before she got it removed, Gemma had a tattoo featuring a Chinese symbol on her stomach, next to her belly button.

The star, who said she “blamed Scary Spice for starting the Chinese symbol on your belly tattoo”, revealed to fans on social media that she was getting it removed back in 2021.
She also admitted she had the tattoo done “in Magaluf at 3am”.
Gemma is passionate about fitness and often shares workout updates with her followers.
The star gave birth to her four-year-old daughter Mia in July 2019, while she and Gorka also welcomed their now-born son Thiago into the world last July.
