Description
The zingy green-ish yellow flower clusters of Allium obliquum add a cool zestiness to planting schemes during mid-summer, which is perfect for bringing an air of cool to the garden when the mercury is peaking. Any style of garden should include a hint of quirkiness, and with its vivid greenish yellow ball-like flower heads sat above unusual twisty stems, this allium would happily fill that role. As with all alliums, this one makes a great cut flower. Plant plenty and enjoy them in your home too! They have a very long vase life and look particularly good in a mixed bunch.
Allium obliquum is very versatile – combine it with mixed flowers in contrasting bright colours to create an eye-popping funky look, plant it in swathes among shrubs for a sleek toned-down look, or add it to a cottage-style mixed flower border to provide contrasting structure – in fact, it’s fair to say that this allium would look great anywhere!
