Milton Britton s/o Lyman Britton and Mary Elmira Patterson of Grimsby, Lamberton Co., Ontario, Canada. In 1871 at the age of 24 yrs., he moved from his old home in Canada to a farm in Dayton Twp., Newaygo Co., MI. He married 1/w Annie Cogswell 15 Sept 1874, Greenwood, Oceana Co., MI., and they had two children: Annie and Melzor who died in infancy and shortly after Anna Cogswell Britton died 25 July, 1876 buried in Bull Cemetery. On November 22, 1880 Hesperia, Newaygo Co., MI. , he was united in marriage to 2/w Nellie
Belle Billings who was born Janesville, Wis. Her parents 1/h Frederick Billings and Tilla Viola Pope d/o Cyrus W. Pope and Nancy Jane Brown of Janesville, Rock Co., WI., and Sparta Monroe Co, WI. Tilla Pope Billings married 2/h Henry Truman Babcock in Janesville, WI., and moved to Denver Twp., Newaygo Co., MI., after the Civil War in 1866.
Henry Truman Babcock adopted Nellie Belle Billings as his daughter.

Milton and Nellie had 12 children:
Clarence Lyman, Alice Maude ( m. James Longley ), Minnie May (Minnie Britton m. Allen Struble), Clyde F., Hazel Belle, Flavia Lucinda, Addie Bly, Hiram Milton, Ivan Vance, Lysle Marie, Emma Leone, Melzor Clayton Britton.
