Very showy when in bloom, Westringia fruticosa Mundi (Coast Rosemary) is a low-growing, spreading evergreen shrub with long narrow dark gray-green leaves, up to 1 in. long (2.5 cm). A profusion of small white flowers are produced in spring (year-round in coastal areas). Attractive to butterflies and bees, they are so abundant that they literally cover the shrub. Tough and low maintenance, this prostrate shrub makes a great groundcover and is perfect for waterwise gardens. Salt tolerant, it is well suited to coastal landscapes.

  • Grows up to 1-2 ft. tall (30-60 cm) and 4-6 ft. wide (120-180 cm).
  • Easily grown in dry, well-drained soils in full sun or part shade. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Great as a specimen plant, low hedge, in Mediterranean gardens, coastal gardens, rock gardens and xeriscape gardens.
  • Virtually disease free and pest free.
  • No pruning required. Takes well to shearing.
  • Propagate by seed, semi-hardwood cuttings or graft.
