Hypericum patulum 'Hidcote'
Hypericum patulum 'Hidcote'
St John's wort 'Hidcote' is a small bushy semi-evergreen shrub with narrowly ovate leaves and bright yellow flowers with orange anthers. Plants of the genus Hypericum, some species of which have been used since ancient times for treating wounds, are documented to have been gathered and burned to ward off evil spirits on the eve of St John's Day, hence the name St John's wort.
