There’s no doubt about it—Mary Poppins is a Disney classic. For nearly 60 years, this film has kept generations of viewers laughing, singing, and dancing. Sorry to break it to you, but none of the scenes from Mary Poppins were shot in London. In fact, every single frame was filmed in Disney’s Burbank soundstage that the company had bought 20 or so years earlier.

Perhaps surprisingly, Mary Poppins was Julie Andrews’ very first feature film. Before Mary Poppins, the actress had an illustrious Broadway career that included playing Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and Queen Guinevere in Camelot.
