Who: Tyson Beckford and Mike Tyson

When: A glorious moment in the mid-'90s

Where: Honestly, we have no idea—but we wish we were at whatever party this was

Why:
With New York Fashion Week: Men's just days away we've been thinking a lot about the majesty of male models. They might not be as popular or make as much money as their female counterparts, but if you ask us, they still have plenty of sway when it comes to influencing everything from personal style to haircuts to what body type is "in" right now. Also, they take mad good selfies. It's no fluke that Zoolander was popular enough to warrant a sequel. Speaking of Zoolander, on the left we have Tyson Beckford, who played himself in the original film, hanging out with that other famous Tyson. Here's why we can't stop staring at this shot of Tyson Beckford and Mike Tyson: their respective mid-90's fashion power moves.

At this point in his career, Beckford was, and still is today we'd argue, one of the most well known American male model of all time. And that black, white, and red, jersey is about as iconic as any of his Ralph Lauren ads at the time. (To put things in perspective, his Polo Sport ads are as iconic as anything Kate Moss did for Calvin Klein.) Also, after looking at this shot we're convinced that this man is immune to aging.

And to Beckford's left is a pre-face-tattoo Mike Tyson outfitted in a black turtleneck, driving cap, and, epically, leather pants and suspenders. It's the type of thing a BDSM-loving newspaper boy might delivery the late (very late) edition in. But jokes aside, it's important to know that, at that time, it was 100% believable that a macho dude Tyson would turn up in something like that—and we'd think he was dope for doing so. It was swerve-y in all the right ways. If anything, let this photo (or, really, artifact of '90s fashion history) inspire you to channel some the swagger of these game-changing guys the next time you go to get dressed.
