The bare roots arrived dried out & brown. I soaked them in water for a bit & then planted them. I don’t think they are going to make it. Help!

    nicky tall phlox
I bough 5 packs of bare root phlox. Each pack contained 5 bare roots that varied in size. On average two roots were large and the other three smaller. 20 of the roots are growing well, five have not sprouted and i planted them indoors 4 weeks ago.

Thank you for sharing your review of the Nicky Tall Phlox. We are so sorry to hear that some of the plants failed to grow. Newly planted bareroots can take 4-6 weeks to see any new growth, as they are establishing a good root system. Also, perennials are covered under a one year guarantee. If the remaining plants fail to grow, you may reach out directly to The Home Depot's Customer Care Team for assistance. Follow the links provided under "Customer Service" at homedepot.com for instruction on how to reach a Customer Care Specialist.

      Growing well!
I had to plant these indoor in 4 inch tall trays, as the weather was not warm enough in the UP. All of them came up. There was 1 smaller root though, that did not make it. It came up, and was doing well. And all of a sudden it started withering away. I have no idea why. But, at the price point, I am happy with the 4 left that are going strong!

        Did not root
The bare roots arrived but were very dry. We soaked them and planted them, but none of them survived. We were disappointed, because the flowers in the picture are beautiful and we looked forward to seeing them bloom.
