Bigfoot on the loose? Residents report an eight-foot hairy apeman with demonic red eyes stalking Tunbridge Wells
The peaceful countryside that surrounds upmarket Tunbridge Wells is being stalked by an 8ft ape-like beast with 'demonic' red eyes, according to local residents.
The creature, which is said to resemble the mythical Bigfoot, has even been spotted by a walker near to the town's common.
According to The Sun, the man had to flee after the terrible creature roared at him.
The latest sighting is another in a catalogue of weird reports over the last six-months.
Residents are said to be divided over the veracity of the sightings, and whether or not the beast is merely someone in fancy-dress.
The Kent News website says the apeman 'towers eight-foot tall, is covered in hair and has red demonic eyes', and that the current sighting resembles one on virtually the same spot 70 years ago.
A post on the Tunbridge Wells People website reveals further details of previous sightings of the beast.
A contributor posting under the name, Graham S, states that an elderly couple claim to have seen the creature in 1942.
“They were sitting on a bench when they became aware of a shuffling noise behind them,” he wrote.
“Upon turning around they saw a tall, ape-like creature with eyes that were burning red moving slowly towards them. They both fled — terrified.”
Royal Tunbridge Wells is located around 40 miles from London and has a population of about 56,500.
