Homeland actor Rupert Friend is engaged to his athlete girlfriend Aimee Mullins!

The news broke of the 30-year-old actor’s engagement to the 38-year-old athlete/actress/model at the 2014 L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth Celebration last night, where she was on stage introducing one of the honorees.

A source said the host of the evening “gave her a congratulatory shout-out when calling her up to the stage, which prompted a ton of applause from the audience” in the surprise announcement (via People). “It was really sweet because Aimee was tight-lipped about it earlier in the night, not wanting to take attention from the honorees,” a source added.

“He was very doting the whole night, pulling out her chair, opening the car door,” the source continued. “They were really adorable, just enjoying the night and each other’s company.”
