Gemma Atkinson has said there is 'no chance' she is leaving her children again as she headed home after three nights away. The Hits Radio host had an overnight stay in London as she appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Wednesday morning (February 7).

Her appearance on the morning chat show, hosted by Lorraine Kelly, came after she her night away with her fiance Gorka Marquez on Monday evening (February 5) as they celebrated their anniversary with a child-free night away after Gemma's mum offered to hold down the fort at home.

The couple, who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and got engaged in 2021, are now proud parents to daughter Mia and son Thiago, and so marking the special occasion with a date night in the city meant they were without their little ones.

And it appeared to hit Bury-born Gemma, 39, hard. She first took to her Instagram Story as she arrived in London and appeared to share her struggle at being away from her children, particularly seven-month-old Thiago, known as Tio for short, as she spent the longest time away from him since he was born in July last year.

"I can't wait to get home though, I'm not going to lie. It's my third night away," she said in a clip posted to her Instagram Story as she let out a faux cry. "Mia was a bit upset because she thought I was home tonight... She said 'Will you pick me up from school?' but I've got a meeting after my slot on Lorraine so I won't be able to but I said, 'I'll try. Mummy will try!' And i thought, I'm not going to be home until after but hey ho."

Gemma has since completed her TV appearance where she chatted about her children's book, Dogs Don't Dance, as well as family life with dancer Gorka. She then later took to her Instagram Story as she headed back to Manchester with a video in which she addressed being away from the children again.

Gemma gave her fans and followers an update as she headed back to Manchester

She said: "I'm on my way home, so excited to get up north, see the kids, see Gorks, Norman and Ollie. Three days is a lot to be away. I don't want to do it again. I'm not doing three days again. No chance."

Meanwhile, she also posted a glam snap to her Instagram grid as she showed off her look from her TV appearance which was put together by her stylist Ryan Kay. The former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star looked gorgeous in a black body suit which she teamed with a metallic midi skirt while her blonde locks appeared to have been freshly styled into a soft curl.

She captioned the post to her 1.9 million followers: "Thanks for all your lovely messages about my interview! And thanks to everyone who’s ordered the book, very much appreciated. Lots of you have asked about my skirt from today, styled as usual by @ryankaystyles."

Gemma was flooded with compliments over her look

And she was quickly flooded with plenty of compliments. Gorka simply posted a love heart eyes emoji, a flame emoji and a black love heart while his Strictly co-star Dianne Buswell commented: "Beautiful love the outfit and well done on the book x i wanna read it hahaha."
