Jennifer Arpin shared the love of hostas with the Messenger last week. Arpin, of Isle, has a family lineage of gardening, specifically hosta gardening, as her great-grandmother, Eunice Fisher, was one of the founders of the American Hosta Society.

Fisher inspired Arpin as a child with her pioneer spirit in hosta hybridization. Now Arpin has thousands of hosta plants at her residence north of Isle, many of which are her own great-grandmother’s varieties.
