Fan columbine is a compact perennial that forms a low mound of foliage. The rounded, fan shaped leaves are thicker and the flowers chubbier than most columbines. The effect is quite charming!

'Alba' has beautiful pure white flowers.

Very easy to grow. Prefers well-drained soil in light shade, but it is not overly particular. Grow it at the front of the border, in a container, or in the rock garden. Deer and rabbit resistant.
