The mature foliage and ripening fruits of the Chinese Quince (Chaenomeles cathayensis), a late winter- to spring-flowering, deciduous, 3m high x 2m wide shrub native to China where it occurs at elevations of 900-2500m. The flowers occur in various shades from white to apricot pink and the fruit is edible, though only just and it must be very ripe.
