Fargesia robusta 'Campbell' - Big Plant Nursery

Fargesia robusta 'Campbell' is one of the finest of the larger growing upright clump forming bamboo with pencil thick olive green canes striped with creamy persistant protective sheaves giving a bold horizontal striped effect. The canes themselves hold masses of deep green narrow leaves which under their weight slightly arch over the branches at the very top. Fargesia robusta 'Campbell' is one of the larger Fargesia we grow easily reaching 3 metres high it is tolerant of both sun and shade but attains the highest growth when planted in a shady spot, sometimes over 4 metres tall. It is very hardy growing in most parts of the U.K happily enduring temperatures well below freezing with ease, like most bamboo I wouldn't recommend it for an exposed windy position as the delicate leaves would become ragged and the delicate look would be spoiled. Fargesia robusta 'Campbell' can be used in many ways, either as a stand alone specimen, planted as a dense hedge or screen or grown for many years as a lush container plant.
