Hosta 'Hadspen Blue' (Tardiana Group) - Dorset Perennials

Potsize - 1L Medium. Hosta tardiflora x Hosta sieboldiana var. elegans 'Alba'. Eric Smith and P.Ruh 1976. Probably the most famous of Eric Smith's hybrids of tardiflora and sieboldiana var. elegans 'Alba' and justifiably so. It has thick textured rich blue leaves with some puckering when mature and a beautiful rounded heart shape, enhanced by the overlapping lobes and cupped habit. It is medium sized achieving 18" high by 34" (45 x 85cm) and has complimentary toned flowers of pale lavender grey on a glaucous grey scape. Slow to bulk up but with one of the best blues which lasts well. The thick textured leaves confer some mollusc resistance.
