(aka: Salvia superba 'Snow Hill') From Germany's renowned plantsman, Ernst Pagels comes Salvia 'Schneehugel'...bless you...one of the best of the Salvia x sylvestris introductions. This sport of the popular Salvia 'Blauhugel' (Blue Hill) makes a tight, 18" wide mound of fuzzy, light green, disease-resistant foliage, smothered in April and May with 10" tall spikes of pure white flowers. Cutting back the old flower stalks often results in a nice sporadic rebloom in summer, and an almost full flowering again in early fall. For us, Salvia 'Schneehugel' (Snow Hill) performs best in bright sun and dry, well-drained soils. I think you'll really enjoy this one!
