Model 1905 Type 38 Arisaka rifle with Imperial Chrysanthemum seal still intact. 25-1/4" barrel has a dark dirty bore with pronounced rifling. 2400 meter visor sight is functional and appears complete to me. Low serial number 00083 match on receiver and bolt. I think this is chamber 6.5mm Jap, but please verify for yourself. Google tells me this rifle was from the 24th Series, Kokura Arsenal. Sporterized stock is sound. Metal finish is even with lightly rusted white spots at muzzle around front sight posts, on rear tangs, trigger guard, floor plate and bolt. Interesting rifle.
