    Anja Hitzler (born 16 February 1983 in Welzheim) is an athlete from Germany. She is a professional soldier and competes in archery. Hitzler represented Germany at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She placed 23rd in the women's individual ranking round with a 72-arrow score of 632. In the first round of elimination, she faced 42nd-ranked Damla Gunay of Turkey. Hitzler defeated Damla, winning 163-152 in the 18-arrow match to advance to the round of 32. In that round, she faced Wu Hui Ju of Chinese Taipei, losing to the 10th-ranked archer in a 9-8 tie-breaker after matching Wu 156-156 in the regulation 18 arrows. Hitzler finished 21st in women's individual archery. Hitzler was also a member of the 7th-place German team in the women's team archery competition. During the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, she was ranked 33rd in the women's individual archery preliminaries with a score of 629. In the first round she defeated Sophie Dodemont with 107-106. She went on to lose to top ranked Park Sung-Hyun in the 1/16 elimination round, losing the match with 112-107.

    Anja Steinbauer (born 1966) is a London-based Sinologist and philosopher. She was born in Mainz, Germany. She is notable as one of the pioneers of the popular philosophy movement, and is the president of Philosophy For All in London. She is also one of the editors of the popularizing magazine Philosophy Now. Much of Steinbauer's scholarly work has related to the Chinese New Confucian philosopher Tang Junyi. This formed the basis for her PhD, which she took at Hamburg University. For some years Steinbauer taught philosophy as part of the adult education department at Birkbeck College in London. When the courses at Birkbeck were cut as a cost-saving measure in 2010, she and six other ex-Birkbeck philosophy tutors joined together to found a new college: the London School of Philosophy (LSP). The LSP's first-ever lecture was given by Anja Steinbauer in January 2011, on the subject "Philosophy and Literature".

Because of the better training condition, she and her family moved to Hannover. When she was thirteen the training center there was closed and so she started to train at one of the national training centers at Bergisch Gladbach.In 2004, she won gold at the German Junior Nationals on bars and placed third in the All Around. The next year she became Junior National Champion in the All Around and on vault. She also earned a second place on floor and a third place on bars.In 2006, Anja took part in the Junior European Championships in Volos, Greece. Together with Marie-Sophie Hindermann, Joeline Mรถebius, Lisa-Katharina Hill and Dorothee Henzler she won the bronze medal in the team competition, a great success for a German team. She placed nineteenth in the All Around and qualified for bars event final where she finished seventh.2007 was Anja's first year as a senior. At German Nationals, she won gold on bars, silver on floor and in the All Around. She competed at the Ghent World Cup, where she was fourth on bars. At the 2007 European Championships in Amsterdam she placed tenth in the All Around and sixth in bars finals. That year Anja was a part of the German team at the 2007 World Championshipsin Stuttgart that managed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing with a respectable tenth place. Brinker was 18th in the All Around, but couldn't qualify for bars final. Despite of some injuries at the beginning of 2008, Anja could qualify for the German team for the Olympic Games in Beijing. There she only competed on her best even, the uneven bars where she could have qualified for event final, but unfortunately, she had a mistake at her dismount still scoring great 15.125 points. The team couldn't live up to the expectations and place 12th and last in qualifications. But it was still a great success that a German team could take part at the Olympics the first time since Barcelona in 1992.
