Slow progress. I frogged the body part below underarms twice, but now result is satisfactory enough to keep crocheting down to the bottom of the cardigan.
Wonder if I’ll have enough yarn for the sleeves… Sigh… Will see.

Je progresse lentement. J’ai refait la partie du corps sous les emmanchures deux fois. Mais le résultat est maintenant acceptable. Je continue tranquillement vers le bas du gilet. Aurai-je assez de fil pour les manches? Je le saurai quand j’y serai. Une chose à la fois…

Mise en forme terminée. Il reste les finitions du col à faire. Verdict: bien.

• Le projet a pris plus en longueur que je ne le pensais. Du coup les manches sont trop longues. Mais ce n’est pas grave. Retroussées, elles restent légères et confortables.
• Les lisières à l’avant qui roulottaient méchamment avant mise en forme se sont aplaties, sans recours à des mesures drastiques. Yes. Je prévois tout de même une finition (peut-être en mailles serrées, à voir).
• J’écarte complètement l’idée de la tirette éclair. Le drapé est tellement fantastique qu’un zip casserait complètement la fluidité de la pièce. Ce serait dommage.

Blocking done before finishing the edges. I wanted to know how project would behave before deciding what to do with borders. So far, very good result.

• Fabric stretched out more than expected. My sample stretched out but with the weight of the full garment, I got longer body and sleeves than expected. Nothing to worry about. The sleeves can be pulled up easily and remain comfortable.
• The edges on the front panes curled a lot before blocking. But now they are flat. That was just too easy. I did not make a serious blocking (no pins, no cables). I’ll probably work a sc row along the edges to stabilize them anyway. Still thinking about it.
• I give up the idea of putting a zipper. Seemed appealing in the beginning, but now that project is blocked, the drape of the fabric is so fluid, smooth, light that a zipper would just prevent the garment to freely float around the body. Which would be a pity.
