Commonly known as Beach Fleabane, this is a compact and tidy herbaceous perennial that carries a mass of flowers above low mounds of blue-green foliage. Small and pink, daisy like flowers with a yellow centre are borne in spring and again in autumn. It typically grows to 25 cm tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun on a well-drained site. This is a great plant for coastal locations as it tolerates poor, dry soils and salt spray. It is commonly included in borders, rock and cottage gardens, planted beneath larger trees, or maintained in a container. This easy to grow and attractive plant is sure to please and is great for attracting butterflies.
