“Kramers Red” is a variety of Erica that produces masses of dark pink flowers from autumn through spring. The showy flowers hang off the stems to become prominent over the foliage. This shrub carries fine, dark green leaves which often have red overtones, and typically grows to 60 cm tall and 80 cm wide. Best performance with this evergreen is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It will grow well in partial shade but flowering is likely to be less profuse. It is also tolerant of moderate frost, dry periods, coastal conditions, and some wind. “Kramers Red” is commonly added to a border or mixed planting, included in cottage gardens, maintained in a container, or mass planted for a stunning display.
